I'd spend time to make the magnet good. This is going to be the thing you're using to get people to your list. It makes sense to spend time creating something that's going to stand out from the competition and convert well. Don't overdo it. You don't need to take a whole week to make a magnet. But a solid day's worth of work with multiple hours spent on the magnet does make sense.
