Congratulations! My $.02 as someone who’s been writing on medium longer than anyone else in these comments. Let the readers decide what’s quality and what isn’t. I have found that pretty much every platform that thinks it’s smarter than its audience fails. Like when medium tried to pivot to journalism style work with all of these fancy editors. They pushed the medium pubs relentlessly on the homepage and nobody read them. People wanted to read stories from Indie creators and while editorial oversight is needed, I would urge you not to go too far by believing the editors know more than the readers. Don’t become like the Oscar’s where they hand pick “quality” movies that absolutely no one watches. Medium was at its best when the algorithm was a meritocracy and the readers decided who won, even if that means tail distributions. Flattening out arbitrarily won’t work.
